Nail Polish Flakes

      

There is a new trend in nail polish! There are small metallic and mirror like flakes in many nail polishes. These polishes are top coats and create a stunning look on nails! They somewhat dissolve onto the nail and don't stick up like glitter pieces. My favorite is the rainbow confetti look and these flakes look can look like fish scales. Revlon has a new line of polishes with a base color and the top coat of flakes in one tube. Finger Paints and Essie have a flake paint line as well. This style was probably made to look like gold flakes but morphed into other colors, Sephora has 24K gold flake nail polish for about $30 I think if you want something authentic, but I wouldn't suggest it because you're going to take it off anyways so why waste money, and GOLD! 

Below the Bun Bow

      

Low bow buns are great for everyday hairstyles. Try them with a sock bun or a top knot. Sometimes too big of a bow is too much! You can even do a half bun with a bow under it. This style is the perfect substitute for the lack of hair to hand abilities to make a hair bow. Any type of bow works for this style and picking a color to match your outfit is best, solid colors are better for matching. For an alternative style, try the "just above the bun bow" look!

Skeleton Suit...

 

Saw the weirdest outfit today in target. A lady was wearing a skeleton suit, not a Halloween costume but a pair of pants and a zip up jacket with bones on it. She was wearing it like it was no big deal and like it was regular clothes. I guess some people do care and/or think things are stylish. They did look like workout clothes in a way and I think might have been a running outfit.

The 90's
    
Having died hair was a trend in the 90's especially blonde streaks and full on blonde. Crazy hair was still in from the 80's but in calmer styles. Large waves and crazy volume was popular too. Short hair was yet again another fabulous hair trend and the best accessory was a ball cap, braids, and clips. 

The 2000's
    

In the early 2000's red streaks and bottle blonde hair was the fad. Stick straight or crimped hair was in. Brightly colored hairbands and clips were common accessories also clips and bands made with fake hair to match yours were all the rage! The latest and greatest hair products, tools, and accessories were always coming out more and more, and more gimmicky too. 

And there you have it, a summary of the greatest hairstyles and trends throughout the lives of American women from 1910 to the 2000's!!!!

The 70's
    


In the 70's have was thick, voluminous, and wavy. Flippy bangs and feathered hair was definitely in than. Check out Farrah Fawcett's hair do. Bangs were a hot trend in the 70's whether they were straight or flipped out. Straight hair in braids or pigtails were a common style. Afros for men and women were a great hit in the African American youth's culture and fashion. Accessories for these hairstyles would be flowers like Minnie Riperton in her "Loving You" music video. 

The 80's
      
Brace yourselves, you are about to experience one of the wildest decades of hair! Mullets for men and women were very popular, and dyed hair became extremely popular in the 80's. Side ponytails were an awesome way to get crazy! Teased hair was great for creating volume in limp hair and crimping hair was also very rad! Madonna showed a perfect example of 80's hair back then. The perfect accessory in the 80's would be scrunchies and neon clips and bands.

The 50's
   

The 50's continued the pinup look and curly hair. The main accessories were fancy clips and netted face covers. Curly hair has lingered on throughout all of the hairstyles.

The 60's
    

Can you say, VOLUME? The 60's had tons of voluminous hair. A bump in the back of the head like the... dare I say it... Jerseyshore, Snookie look, but better examples would be British singers Duffy and Adele and their hairstyles. Accessories would be thin headbands that separate the bump and bangs.

The 30's
   

As their hair began to grow out from their bobs in the 20's, women created new hairstyles for longer hair. They kept the finger wave look but looser for longer hair. A curl in the front of the head or large curled folds were common.

The 40's
   
This time period was the time of war yet again. Due to the war, men were not in factories so women held their jobs and to keep their locks out of harms way they often put them up in bandanas like Rosie the Riveter. The large folded and curled bangs were a similar style to those of the 30's. Picture Marilyn Monroe's hairstyles. Common accessories were netted veils on clips or small side hats and flower and feather clips.
