Forever21 Critique

Forever21 is great but there are a few things that set me off.

  1. Everything is cheaply made but is sold at high prices. There are even some stories about child labor and sweatshops.
  2. Their jewelry is super cute and always sells but is too high priced for bad quality. Why not reduce the prices a bit if they know they sell them, so that the buyer can get a cheaply made item for, cheaper!
  3. My third argument over Forever21 is that of their plus size section. They obviously have bad plus size designers, I bet they have really skinny designers because they do not know the simplest and main rule about plus size clothing. Waist line, waist line, WAIST LINE! All of the clothes are flowy and loose, sure that is appealing to some plus size women but loose clothing actually makes you look wider. You need something that is light material but has a draw sting or a belt at your natural waist to create curves. Just check out their new arrivals for their plus size section, nothing but loose tops and no waists!  http://www.forever21.com/Product/Category.aspx?br=plus&category=pluswhatsnewall Another thing that annoys me about their plus size section is the colors. Tons of neons and graphic Tees, which isn't flattering on bigger women. A neon shirt of a bigger woman is like a giant street sign, trust me. And the graphic Tees are a turn off, they make bigger women look like they are children. And one more thing is the style of the plus size area is that there is no specific style or clothing genre. For me, a plus size woman, I want to wear the cute styles in the other sections that only go up to a large not neon tanks and graphic shirts. Instead of having a plus size section that doesn't even flatter plus sizes, just make every other, "normal", section go up the the sizes in the plus size section. Problem solved, now Forever21 get-a-cracking!

Improvements
  • They need some natural tones and earth colors, that is flattering on plus size women.
  • Waist line cinching shirts
  • Cheaper clothing and accessories
  • Better quality
  • More selection in the plus size section

The Mullet

The mullet, one of the most famous hairstyle from the late '80s and early '90s. On men and women it looks gross and odd, on babies it looks cute, especially girls! Mullets for adults, in this decade, out of the question, but keep cutting your baby's hair into a mullet or like I did when I was little, let them cut it themselves! I got a hold of the kitchen scissors when I was a toddler and I cut my hair at the front because I couldn't reach the back and it turned into the cutest haircut ever. I've seen other little girls with self-cut mullets and it is adorable. As they say, "Business in the front, party in the back!"

There's my mullet! It's it cute! Ahh the '90s!

Pinky Rings?

The biggest male celebs have them, Bono, Sinatra, P-Diddy, Dr. Evil, Rappers and Mobsters, even my neighbor, Guy Fieri! Pinky rings seem to have a money related status, "I have a ring, on my PINKY! I must me rich and famous!" Okay so maybe that isn't exactly what they symbolize but it is some sort of status ranking. Italians, "Mobsters", and African Americans, "Rappers" seems to have them the most, why? I have no clue, but pinky rings aren't appealing to me at all. To me they seem like HUGE metal chunks that make a man look manlier? Like they are some big cheese.

What are your opinions about pinky rings?

Fishtail Braids

The fishtail braid is a signature summer hair style, and it is pretty simple to do. Make a side fishtail or down the back, you can make it thick or thin, firm or loose. It is a stylish yet simple way to do your hair. Use it for a job interview which will show elegance or use it when your camping. It isn't too formal and it's definitely not too casual. Check out this how to video from The Hills, Lauren Conrad and Kristin Cavallari, thanks girls.

Heavy Duty Deodorant

If you are have excessive perspiration or you have bad B.O. then check out some of the clinical deodorants like Degree and Secret for women. For men, Dove and Degree have clinical protection deodorant. And even if you don't sweat that much, or don't smell it is still nice to have that assurance that you won't if you have the strong stuff. The downside about these prescription deodorants is that the women ones smell strongly like male deo. but that is something you can get past.

Hand Fans

Keeping a hand fan by your side is super "handy". You can whip it out when you are starting to sweat while waiting in line for the bus, hide your face from someone you don't want to see, play peek-a-boo with a cute stranger, etc. With many styles and designs, hand fans are a great accessory to any girls hot summer day outfit. And since they are so slim you can tuck it into your purse when you aren't using it! And if you have a business you want to advertise, the cardboard ones are great for just that! Fans are also great for church, weddings, and other outings indoors and out. And let's not forget the ones we all made in elementary school even if it wasn't hot, by folding paper back and forth.

Stains & Solutions

Stains suck, especially when they are on a favorite shirt or a brand new clothing item. Club soda is always something grandmothers say  to use when you get a stain. Warm water always helps, right when you get a stain rip that shirt off and run it under the tap, or dab it with a damp cloth. Then there are the detergents and sprays, Oxi Clean, Shout, Tide,  Bleach, for whites only, etc. Some work, others don't, just be careful with foods and drinks and you should be good.

Paper Crane Earrings (Made by Me!!!)

I hand make each crane, hook them on to a wire, then string on the multiple beads, fasten the earring hook on to the wire and they are done! It takes a while to make each pair but it is fun and a great time consumer for long summer day with nothing else to do. I am selling each pair for around $2, if you are one of my U.S., California, followers you can order one from the album on Facebook or request a personal one from the tons of bead and paper colors and combinations. If you are out of the state or country and ABSOLUTELY want/need a pair I'm sure I can work something out through Ebay with paypal.

Do You Have the Time?

There are thin ones, thick ones, metal ones, rubber ones, ones that look like bracelets, and some that are way too expensive. So you get the idea, there are tons of brands, styles and designs. Brands must be the most important thing that I know of when it comes to watches, well that and knowing the time! Brand names such as Rolex, Cartier, Patek Philippe, TAG Heuer, Omega, Chopard, Frank Muller, etc. But brands are not the most important thing about watches, it is there sentimental value, the story behind it, and how it makes you feel. And if the watch is comfortable, obviously stylish, not too flashy, also watches with special features like a solar re-charger, waterproof, compass, date, etc. So invest in a useful, long lasting watch and take care of it and you'll have it for a long Time!

Little Black Dress (LBD)

For those party girls, those formal girls and every other girl in between. There are strapless ones, one shoulder, thick straps, thin straps, cross straps, short sleeve, long sleeve, lace neck, deep V, sweetheart, chocked up, etc. So many styles and all one color, black! A simple, sexy, elegant, and slimming color that is great for almost any occasion.

Eyebrow Lines (???)

These eyebrow lines are really ghetto and just a signature for punks. They make you look like a thug and when I see a Caucasian guy with these lines, or anyone other than African American, they look even more stupid. I used to think that they were a scar and that the eyebrow hair didn't grow back, ridiculous right? Well they do look like that, watch a cartoon with a villain that is missing an eye and the scar goes through the eyebrow half of the time and it looks just like this!

Clear it Up : Acne Washes

So occasionally everyone breaks out, whether it is on your face, back or chest. We've all had those days, male or female, because of your period or not, because we are teens and have hormones and developing bodies, or for whatever reason. The thing is you shouldn't make fun of someone because of the amount of acne they have or feel self conscience about yourself because there are solutions.

I've heard bad things about Proactive and wouldn't recommend it because of their hidden fees and extra charges and bottom line, high prices. Just because a cute celebrity says it works doesn't mean it does for you.

Clearasil is good, I don't use it enough to see progress for me personally, but their spot treatments are pretty good.

PanOxyl is great, use it in the shower, scrub it on, let it sit and then wash it off. You will see results!

Oxy is kinda like PanOxyl's cousin, hard working as well. (Recommended)

SkiniD I haven't tried it but it seems unique because it is designed to clear your skin type. You can take a survey online to see which of their products would best suit your skin, pretty neat!

So there are many solutions out there and for summer, and all the time, you want to be clear and confident! And a helpful hint, next time you are at a doctor's appointment, whatever it is for, ask for Retin-A, it is great for scarring and helps with regular breakouts. Another hint is if you pop a pimple put an antibacterial on it to help it go down faster. But don't pop your pimples or it will lead to scarring... wish someone told me that!

 This works great!

Mumford & Sons' Style

A British Folk Rock band with tons of steam and character! Their music is amazing and strong and is a fresh sound compared to the mainstream music now.Banjos, cellos, marching band drums, guitars, and mandolins are some instruments apart of this great band's music.  Their music also takes form in their style, unique and indie-like. Men their ages older and younger should start dressing like this more. It is sophisticated, dressy and yet casual. Vests, ties, pea coats, blazers, bow ties, denim, leather, fedoras, dress pants and shoes, suspenders, etc. all a part of their style. It may seem a bit hipster, but not as "rave-ish" like real hipster style is. Their style is the classic match for the vintage style I am obsessed with, in fact that is what their style is, vintage.

So for all the men that read my blog take a trip to the nearest men's dress clothing store, such as Men's Warehouse, and try on some dressy, snazzy clothes.
