Many people think that a checkered pattern is considered plaid, in fact when I used Google Images and searched plaid clothes up came a bunch of checkers. There is a difference between the two. Plaid jackets are the cutest article of clothing out there, but if it looks good on you then go ahead. Also plaid jackets kind of remind me of the 90's punk kids or rockers. Dresses are super cute! Put some cowgirl boots on and you'll look like a southern bell. Plaid is really good for guys because usually a plaid pattern is on a button up shirt so it is casual yet formal. If you are a boy or girl remember that there are different sleeve lengths, normal full sleeve length and from that you can roll up and button up 3/4 of the way up your arm, then there are 3/4 length sleeves without the extra material and the button option. Any style is fine.
