Hair wands are better than typical curlers because they don't have clamps that will create an awkward crimp in your hair. They also are a slender cone shape with allows you to have thicker and wider curls at the top of your hair that tapper down into smaller ones. Most wands come with a handy glove that will protect your hand from getting burned while curling. Some wands, or curlers, have knobs on them which allow your hair to stay in position while you curl unlike wands with the sloped cone shape, hair with slowly slide up them.
